David R. Palmer, Ph.D., CPA

PhotoDavid Palmer is an experienced management consultant, mentor, educator, and professional speaker. His expertise in the areas of marketing and marketing strategy, leadership and management, finance, negotiations, and research is based on over 30 years of work in industrial and professional service settings.

Dr. Palmer has provided consulting services and implemented development programs for companies of all sizes, including SBC, Infineon, Anritsu, Amdahl, Varian, Nike, Seagate, Rambus, Hewlett-Packard, International Data Corporation, Hitachi Data Systems, Veritas, FedEx, Symantec, El Camino Hospital, and IBM. In addition, he is a decorated combat veteran, having served as an Infantry Officer with both the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions.

Dr. Palmer has held a variety of senior management positions, including President, Vice President of Marketing, and Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. For the past 16 years he has been a Partner with the Customer Manufacturing Group, a marketing consulting firm in Santa Clara, California. The firm assists clients with the application of manufacturing principles to the marketing and sales process.

He has also applied his management knowledge internationally, having lived and worked in Europe, Mexico, and Asia. Numerous workshops have also been developed and delivered internationally for the University of California at Berkeley including a Global Marketing seminar for Asian business managers. He has also taught and worked with hundreds of international managers working in the Silicon Valley as part of their MBA studies at Santa Clara University.

Dr. Palmer is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants, the American Marketing Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Society for Training and Development, and the National Speakers Association. He also co-authored the book, Marketing Allied Health Educational Programs.

He holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Management from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, an M.B.A. in Finance and an M.S. in Accounting from the Wharton Graduate School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. degree in Economics and Accounting from Claremont McKenna College. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, Real Estate Broker, and teaches in the MBA Program at Santa Clara University.
